Singing Dancing Carpenter - Forster / Tambling
This is a musical about celebrating life in all its fullness. Implicit in that is a protest against all that is life-denying in our world. The focus of that, in this work, is Jesus, and the title picks up two things about him which were, according to people's point of view, highly attractive or utterly offensive. One was his festive lifestyle, and the other his attractive or utterly offensive. Contents: Part one: Singing dancing carpenter, Water to wine, Isn't this the carpenter, Come as you are, Oh! Zacchaeus!, One was a traitor. Part two: Stone her!, He's just a simple carpenter, Cry hosannah!, Crucify Him!, I do not know the man, What kind of man was this? Part three: He's alive, Do not touch, Got to get away, One hundred and fifty-three.
